Malice in Maggody by Joan Hess

This book was a hoot. Ariel Hanks is the police chief in her backward hometown of Maggoty Arkansas after she crawls home from a bad divorce in NYC. All cozies have someone crawling home...but his one is filled with insane stereotypical characters that Joan hess managed to make both hilarious and sometimes sad. It started out a little rocky for my but after a few pages I was hooked and the murderer surprised me.

If you like less fluffy cozies, this one is for you.
